เรื่องราวของสาธารณรัฐ ซันแมกโนเลีย ที่ถูกจักรวรรดิประเทศเพื่อนบ้านรุกรานด้วย ลีเจี้ยน (อาวุธแบบไร้คนขับ) ทำให้ทาง ซันแมกโนเลีย ได้ผลิตอาวุธรุ่นเดียวกันออกมาต่อต้าน แต่ที่จริงแล้วอาวุธไร้คนขับเหล่านี้ต่างถูกควบคุมโดยคนหนุ่มสาวจากเขตที่ 86 ที่เป็นเขตที่ไม่ถูกนับรวมว่ามีอยู่จริงในประเทศ ซันแมกโนเลีย ซึ่งเนื้อเรื่องจะมีการโฟกัสไปที่ตัวละคร “ลีเจี้ยน” ทหารหญิงจาก ซันแมกโนเลีย ผู้สั่งการของเขต 86 กับ “ชิน” หัวหน้าหน่วยกล้าตายฝีมือดี
